On January 17, the Municipality of Fundão hosted the second training session on renewable energy communities, an initiative that took place at the A Praça Incubator.
The event was held within the scope of the Fundão Energy for Community and PLENTY-Life projects, funded by the European Union, and aimed to raise awareness and train participants in the creation and management of Renewable Energy Communities (REC).
The session included the presentation of practical cases of Renewable Energy Communities in Portugal, in locations such as Évora and Telheiras, highlighting the role of municipalities in combating energy poverty and promoting sustainable systems.
As part of this session, an interactive workshop was also held to develop scenarios aligned with Fundão’s 2030-2050 carbon neutrality goals and the potential creation of RECs in the municipality.
This initiative reinforces the Municipality’s commitment to sustainability, enabling the exchange of experiences and the creation of energy solutions that benefit the entire local community.
