Empowering SMCTs for a Sustainable Energy Future
Providing local authorities of SMCTs with dedicated capacity to deliver and monitor sustainable plans and strategies for the clean energy transition following a comprehensive capacity building programme.
Unlocking Climate Neutrality: HISEP Methodology for Sustainable Energy Planning in SMCTs
Institutionalising the spatial and integrated energy planning by implementing the innovative HISEP methodology within the SMCTs as a cross-sectoral planning process integrating the energy planning with other urban development sectors and tailored to the local needs of SMCTs. This will enable achieving the energy and climate targets by designing energy-efficient and climate-proof spatial and settlement structures to drive the transformation towards climate neutrality by 2030/or 2050.
Leading the Way: Demo SMCTs Paving the Path for Clean Energy Transitions
Establishing local pilots as demo SMCTs in the four participating countries to demonstrate innovative fully embedded planning processes. The pilots are selected to represent municipalities and regions that are ambitious but still lagging behind in preparing their clean energy transition strategies.
Shaping a Sustainable Future: Building Capacities for Clean Energy Transition
Providing a systematic training program for capacity building in integrated holistic planning for clean energy transition targeting policymakers, public officers and spatial planners of local and regional authorities.
Towards a Greener Future: Empowering Cities with Sustainable Energy Strategies
Standardized preparation of city case study to formulate comprehensive sustainable energy strategies and plans based on simplified but scientifically sound modelling tools for long-term clean energy transition including the provision of related databases for the pilot cities.
Inspiring Communities: Co-creating Sustainable Clean Energy Transitions
Development of guidelines for a systematic planning and implementation of clean energy transition aligned with the local development concepts and urban planning following a co-creation-process involving multiple stakeholders and citizen and considering the role of urban governance and the regulatory framework conditions.
Measuring More Than Numbers: PLENTY-LIFE's Impactful Clean Energy Monitoring
Development of monitoring and impact evaluation approach going beyond the traditional KPIs (e.g., kWh or ton of CO2), able to frame and communicate the overall socio-economic and environmental gains of the municipal clean energy transition. PLENTY-LIFE will establish the monitoring framework KICET (key indicators for clean energy transition) aligned with the goals 7, 11 and 13 of SDGs and with SECAP framework. This will enable tracking the trajectory towards sustainable and carbon neutral cities.
Examples to follow: Sharing PLENTY-LIFE's Clean Energy Best Practices with Follower Cities
Providing guidelines, lessons-learned and best-practices gained form the pilots implementation to inspire follower SMCTs in preparing and delivering strategies and plans for clean energy transition following the established HISEP methodology PLENTY-LIFE.
