On October 3rd, the Municipality of Fundão, in partnership with EDP NEW, organized a dynamic, action-oriented capacity-building session focused on the development of Renewable Energy Communities, in alignment with the EU-funded Plenty-Life and ScalableCities projects.
The event brought together participants from various sectors to discuss and plan Fundão’s energy future across mobility, buildings, industry, and agriculture, with a focus on ambitious sustainability goals for 2030 and 2050.
The program covered the foundational concepts of Renewable Energy Communities, highlighting the differences between Collective Self-Consumption (ACC) and Individual Self-Consumption (ACI), the role of Collective Self-Consumption Management Entities (EGAC),as well as key technical and regulatory considerations.
